We knew for a long time that hiking in the Himalayas would be something nothing short of epic. Both with a love of the mountains, and the outdoors and exploring remote corners of the earth, the Himalayas truly make you feel insignificant and standing amongst these majestic giants is a feeling we will never forget.
The hike to Annapurna Base Camp is a wonderful route, spanning across usually 8 to 10 days passing through low lush green valleys and observing the transition of landscapes up to the harsh, cold, snow-covered summits. If you plan to visit Nepal we highly recommend hiking with a guide to the Himalayas, you will come back with memories to last you a lifetime.
Nepal was one of our favourite places to visit, from the busy city life of Kathmandu to the peaceful lakeside town of Pokhara, this country is full of beautiful people, culture and spectacular landscapes.
So grab a cuppa, get comfy and immerse yourself in the photo essay of our journey from Pokhara, the gateway to the Himalayas and our 8-day hike took us all the way up to Annapurna Base Camp with phenomenal views of Machapuchare and other 6,000m+ giants.
