CASTLE ASHBY GARDENS

Dating back to 1872 Castle Ashby House is home to a beautiful Italian garden and orangery. Located just outside of Northampton to the East. Castle Ashby Gardens are home to a variety of different plant life and wildlife such as meerkats. Set in a 10,000 acre site the gardens are a much smaller 35 acres of the main site and are also home to an impressive arboretum.

We loved the nature walk and butterfly garden, especially in summer when the butterflys are in full flight. Hidden in the corner of the butterfly garden is the beautiful Fuchsia house. It is a grade 1 listed building and is very similar to the larger orangery.

The Menagerie was a surprise for us and seeing the variety of animals in the gardens is something that young children would love.

A fun little day out and the orangery alone is well worth a visit. The gardens are open 365 days a year and an adult entry ticket costs £8 and only £5 for a car in the winter. There is plenty of car parking available on site.

For all the latest information on the gardens please visit the gardens website before visiting.
