Best Beaches In Kent, East Sussex and Dorset
England has so many beautiful beaches. We are often in different countries looking for incredible beaches, when here in England we have world class beaches set to incredible backdrops.
We will be breaking our favourite beaches up into different articles. We will be focusing on our favourite beaches in Kent, East Sussex and Dorset of this edition of our favourite beaches.
WORBARROW BEACH
A military beach and normally off limits but it is open at the weekends and during holidays. It is a walk to get to this beach especially if the village car park is closed. This makes it very quiet and private. When you reach the beach walk right down to the end where the rock fall is. You will then most likely have this area to yourself, it is also the only area of the beach that is golden sand rather than shingles. If you are up to it and the tide is low you can keep walking further along to other beautiful secluded beaches.
BOTANY BAY
A popular filming location, the white chalk cliffs and tower stacks on the beach make this an incredibly beautiful beach to visit. Golden sand and excellent water quality make this a great beach.
CAMBER SANDS
Looking for sand dunes on the South East coast? If so then Camber Sands is the place for you! When the tide is out you have a width of half a mile and 5 miles in length of golden sand beach. Unique because many of the neighbouring beaches are stone or shingles. At low tide the water is shallow and feels warmer than other waters in the area. Watch out for when the tide does come in though as it comes in at a rapid pace and can catch you off guard. The sand dunes are great for a little more privacy when sunbathing as the patches of grass growing shelter you a bit more.
BOURNEMOUTH BEACH
A large golden sand beach harkening back to the golden era of British beach holidays. We spent many childhood holidays on this beach, walking our way down the famous zig zag to the beach. Perfect for a family day at the beach. The water is generally safe to swim in and the facilities are readily available.
DURDLE DOOR
The famous rock arch makes this an iconic location on the English south coast. Durdle Door is very popular and the beach close to the arch itself can became very busy. However, if you walk further away from the arch the beach opens up and you can find plenty of space to spend your time. Jumping from the arch is prohibited but it still doesn’t stop some and has led to the hospitalisation of some jumpers in recent years.
MAN O’ WAR BEACH
Located on the other side of Durdle door, the beautiful cove is home to Man o’ War Beach. Golden sand and safe swimming make this the perfect spot for a family day out at a beautiful location
DUNGENESS
Britains only desert, this unique landscape and beach is a great place to walk and explore. The many abandoned fishing boats give the place an Erie feel. Dungeness is popular with photographers because of the abandoned boats.
