The most convenient way to get to Esplanade Hotel is by car. Newquay is well-connected to main roads and allows you to explore the surrounding areas and beautiful beaches.
The main route to The Esplanade Hotel is to take the M5 southwest, following the A30 towards Bodmin and take the exit to Newquay following the A39 and A392.
Take the first exit at the roundabout heading towards Pentire, passing the golf course on your right and The Esplanade Hotel will be on your left. There is a car park outside the hotel and generous on-street parking along Esplanade Road.

The best direct route from London to Esplanade Hotel is to get the train to Penzance from London Paddington and get out at St Austell station where the journey lasts approximately 4 hours 30 mins.
Once you arrive in St Austell, catch the bus to Newquay and the closest stop to the hotel is Tower Road which takes around 15 minutes by foot to reach the Esplanade Hotel.
HOW TO GET AROUND Newquay?
Most nearby Newquay attractions are easily accessible either by foot or bike, which makes Esplanade Hotel a great location to be based to explore the surrounding areas. There is easy access to Fistral Beach only a short minutes walk from the hotel, as well as nearby cafés, shops and restaurants.
The town centre of Newquay is a 20-minute walk on foot with the option of regular buses that leave from the Fistral Bay hotel bus stop opposite the hotel. Check the Go Cornwall website and download the app for real-time updates and timetables.
Another great way to explore the local area is by bike, there are a few nearby rental stores including e-bikes from Ride On and you will also find Beryl bikes dotted around the town.
WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO VISIT THE Esplanade HOTEL?
Cornwall can be visited at any time of year, the summer months bring warm long days in the sun and winter brings stormy waves with cosy evenings in the pub.
If you can avoid the summer holidays (end of July to August), these are the busiest months in Cornwall where there is a lot of traffic on the roads. In the autumn and winter months, there are much fewer crowds and is the perfect time to watch the waves roll in from the comfort of your sea view room.

We stayed in a sea view balcony room, which was beautifully decorated with comfort in mind. The room has a private balcony overlooking Fistral Beach, perfect for watching the sunset and witnessing birds return home for the night.
The sea view balcony room has a King-size bed, a large bathroom with both a bath and shower with GAIA toiletries (natural skincare brand), tea and coffee, a mini fridge, bathrobes and a hair dryer. There was plenty of storage to put your clothes and bags away to keep the room feeling cosy and fresh.
