During our time at Munga Guesthouse, we stayed in both a suite and a magnum suite which gave us an in-depth experience of what to expect during our stay. We stayed in both the Driftwood Room suite and the Africa Magnum suite which are some of the best rooms you can choose at Munga.
Driftwood Room
A large comfy elevated bed, two driftwood chandeliers with plenty of natural light from the large windows and a giant piece of driftwood that stands in the centre of the room in front of the bed.
The driftwood room has generous areas for storage with a safe and hanging space. The lounge area with chairs overlooking the balcony. The picture-perfect balcony invites you to views of the Atlantic Ocean with two wooden chairs and a lovely cosy spot, where you can chill in the afternoon with a book and snack.
There is a minibar, which comes fully stocked with alcoholic drinks and complementary dates, oranges and dried fruit. The en-suite bathroom is a showstopper, featuring a rainfall shower, taps made of shells beautiful tiles and windows framing a sea view.
Africa Room
As one of the few magnum suites, the Africa room is something special and unique. Before you enter the room, you have a private terrace area with cosy cushions. As you enter the large intricately carved wooden door, there is a large bathroom which has a corner shower and sink made of beautiful stone.
The bedroom carries the ‘Africa’ theme, with elements of handcrafts, artwork, African wildlife and a feast for the senses. The bed is set within an enclave, making it extra cosy and private facing a fireplace. The room also has a mezzanine, with a den-like feel where another two people can sleep. A set of two floor-to-ceiling windows leads you to a small balcony overlooking the beach and village streets.
Outside of the bedrooms, there is a generous seating area which is set around a central fireplace and one of the most beautiful grand Moroccan lamps. This area overlooks the enormous cacti trees reaching for the skies. Large wooden beams run across the ceiling and a final wooden door leads you to the piece de resistance of this suite.
As you walk through the large wooden door, a stunning Moroccan rug leads you to the most beautiful space with a covered balcony, adored with neutral hessian curtains, and lovely unobstructed 180-degree sea views which makes it a wonderful spot to enjoy sunrise and sunset.
